One of my favourite books is Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind. I fell in love with the world Rothfuss created, and would LOVE to hear Kvothe playing the lute! (what does a lute even sound like?) I can't wait for the third book to come out, but in the meantime I figured I'd share my vision of the mysterious Denna.. Diane.. Dinael...
Once upon a time, there was a girl who spent her days drawing.. stuff, and decided to post that stuff online, and that was when a mommy blog met a daddy blog and gave birth to a teeny tiny baby blog. (Awwwwe) That happened in March, a few years ago, so today marks the first day of this blog's birthmonth! Woo! In order to celebrate... here's a few of my favourite things (besides the obvious raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens) that I've posted here since this blog was born, enjoy! :)
Not a selfie of me, obviously. Which, I suppose, defeats the whole purpose of the word 'selfie,' if ever there was one, but that's a whole different matter -- anyway, lately I came across a bunch of those pics, you know, surely you've seen them before: scarcely-clad young women on a night out, posing in front of sports cars, presumably not their own, because.. well, I never could figure out why. My point is, those pictures made me wonder how today's youth and their way of life would look, transported into a world of fairy tales, with princesses and tiaras and princes riding on their white horses.. This is what came out of it.
I've always been a great fan of C.S. Lewis's work -- as well as the other great authors who've walked the streets of Oxford, but I digress.. Anyway, in case you were wondering, this is a reference to Narnia, hope you enjoy. And if you know where that wardrobe can be found, feel free the share the GPS coordinates!
